Core
Halo Water Therapy & Waterfall Rinse
The halo rinse is the most-filmed step in a Japanese-style head spa: a ring device pours a continuous, gentle stream of warm water over your forehead and hairline and through your hair while you recline with your head resting in warm water. Silk Head Spa describes its ring pouring from the forehead down to the nape, paired with a gua sha massage during the hydrating treatment step.
What happens
- You recline fully at the basin or Yume unit and settle your head into the water bath.
- The halo ring or head-bath attachment starts a continuous warm-water flow over the hairline and through the hair.
- Takara Belmont's Yume Head Bath process adds the head bath for five minutes after shampooing.
- The practitioner may hand-massage or use tools while the water runs, before a plain rinse and leave-in treatment finish the step.
Core or add-on?
Core differentiator of Japanese-style menus. Not every US head spa has the equipment, but where a menu advertises a waterfall or water-ring step, it is inside the signature ritual, not an extra.
Typical price & duration
Included in signature tiers in the menus we found — Lustre lists 'Waterfall Therapy' within its $149 Signature, and Haus lists a 'Water Ring Cascade' in its $220 Signature. We found no menu pricing the halo rinse separately.
