Core
Scalp Analysis & Consultation
Almost every signature head spa visit opens with a scalp analysis: a consultation plus a close look at your scalp, often with a magnifying camera (sometimes called a trichoscope). It is how the practitioner decides which cleansers, exfoliants and treatments your scalp actually needs, instead of running a one-size-fits-all ritual.
What happens
- You talk through your concerns and history — oiliness, flaking, itching, shedding, sensitivity.
- The practitioner parts your hair in sections and moves a magnifying camera over the scalp, checking oil and sebum levels, dryness and flaking, follicle condition, product buildup and redness or sensitivity.
- The images are shown to you on screen and used to choose the products and steps for your session.
- At many studios the camera comes out again at the end, so you can compare before-and-after images.
Core or add-on?
Core. Scalp analysis is the opening step of almost every signature menu in our research, and at scalp-health-led studios it is the point of the visit. Some studios also sell it as a standalone consultation.
Typical price & duration
Usually included in the treatment price — Cosset, The Puretime and Volition all list scalp analysis as included in their tiers. One priced exception: Galaxy Head Spa lists its analysis as part of its packages, and La Vie Bella lists a standalone consultation at $45 for 30 minutes, credited toward treatment. Menus do not time the analysis separately inside a session, so we do not publish a minute figure for it.
